Thursdays at the Theater: Vol. X

By: Joshua Volkers

Hello there, everybody, this is the last week we have of school, most of you are beginning to take your exams, and I believe that most of the Grade 12s have finished their exams by today, so congratulations to every single one of you who are moving on from high school, and I wish you the very best in whatever you wish to do out in the big, wide world that we call home. Among these departing seniors will be none other than our very own Izabela Pitula and Carolyn Martinko! Carolyn’s been a big help with all of the wokr she has done as our copy editor and she is an incredibly enthusiastic individual, and you should know Izabela’s contributions already. Izabela’s just had her last sports round-up published, so believe me when I say that I have nothing but the best wishes for all of the Grade 12s. Now though, it’s time to talk some movies!

That's A Wrap: Athletic Banquet

The 2015 Holy Trinity Athletic Banquet kicked off this past Thursday. It was a night of prestigious awards, a delicious meal, and a fun dance. The event started off with a wonderful speech by Delaney Hughes. Then, Ms. Olmstead began announcing the first awards with many HT students being given the MVP award for their respective teams. Following the dinner, there was a terrific slide show shown, alongside another great athletic video done by Stipe Crnogorac. 2014-15's Rookies of the Year were Emily Baxter and Stephen Szulc. The Junior Athletes of the Year were awarded to Marley Angus and Caitlyn Bailie. Kevin Yap was the recipient of the Sportsperson of the Year award. Jillian Condron was the recipient of the prestigious Titan Award for dedication to basketball. For the final awards of the evening, the Senior Athletes of the Year were given to Katja Zbogar and Nathan Rourke. After the closing remarks, the tables were cleared and students filled the hall as it had been time to dance! Shoutout to Mr. Joseph for being the DJ!

The athletic banquet was an absolute blast! It was the best way to honour and recognize all of our amazing athletes who have showed a lot of commitment, skill and determination this year! For a recap of the year in sports, stay tuned to the blog and our regular sports updates!

Ask Anonymous 13

Q: I need some advice. When my mom was in high school, there was this guy who had a massive crush on her, but she went "Nah bruh" and dated my dad instead. Anyway, my parents died when I was a baby, (I survived) and I'm pretty sure he had something to do with it. Anyway, he's a chemistry teacher here now, and it's kinda awkward. Plus, the fact that I'm fairly well known for surviving the car crash has got me this new nickname "The Boy Who Lived" so it's kinda hard to make friends. Got any advice?

Spring Pep Rally Recap

By: Adrian Flaherty
The 2015 HT spring pep rally was a huge success as students filled the gym to celebrate and look back at the wonderful season all the spring sports teams had. The pep rally began with an amazing highlight video, capturing all the great moments of every Holy Trinity spring sports team. Many teams were recognized, such as track and field, senior boys and girls soccer, junior boys and girls soccer, tennis, badminton, baseball, softball, lacrosse (who made it to OFSAA), and rugby. A fashion show was held, where many sports teams were showcased. For example, two players from a team would walk out and showcase the sport they play. There were also very fun and entertaining activities, such as the egg challenge, the scavenger hunt, and the flip cup tournament between the student athletes and the teachers/faculty. To conclude the last pep rally of the year, a feature presentation by Stipe Crnogorac was shown, which was extremely well-done, creative, and hilarious. In conclusion, the 2015 spring pep rally was a wonderful way to end off the year as many Titans showed a lot of spirit and support for their spring sports team.
