Weekly Sports Round-Up

By: Izabela Pitula

Before the spring season is officially done this upcoming week, check out what happened this past week in Titan athletics:

The junior girls’ soccer team beat Bishop Reding 5-1 on Monday in the preliminary round. Two days later, the Titan girls won 2-0 against Loyola in a quarter final game. Our girls will visit Corpus Christi’s team tomorrow in a semi final game at 3pm. Good luck, girls!

Even though the Titan junior boys’ soccer team lost their quarter final game to Loyola on Wednesday by a score of 3-0, the boys gave their all throughout the season. They placed first in the Volpe Division with 9 wins and only 1 loss. It was a tough season ending this week, but the whole team should be proud of themselves for representing black and gold colours well this year. Next season will be our season!

HT’s senior boys’ baseball team unfortunately ended their playoff run in a quarterfinal game on Tuesday when they faced T.A. Blakelock. Despite the tough loss, the team had a great season! Look out for this team next year, Titans!

On Tuesday, HT’s senior girls’ fastpitch team closed off their amazing regular season with another big win against Iroquois. The final score was 13-4. On June 4th, the ladies played in their semifinal game against Assumption whom they beat by just one run; 12-11. Our girls earned their way to playoff final game that will take place this Tuesday at River Oaks Park against Iroquois! Good luck, ladies!

Holy Trinity’s senior boys’ lacrosse team won their first game at OFSAA 8-6 against Our Lady of Mount Carmel. They won their second game 13-3, but then lost their 3rd- the OFSAA semifinal game. Although it was a tough loss and a bittersweet season ending, the boys finished 4th place at OFSAA. The team should be proud of themselves after an excellent season which also resulted in becoming back to back Halton champions.
