This week may not have been the greatest in weather wise, but HT’s athletics sure were.
The junior girls’ soccer team is still undefeated in 4 games played. On Wednesday, they faced Bishop Reding's team, which they beat 3-0. The girls will play next on Wednesday at HT against Loyola! The senior girls’ soccer team has a record of 4 wins and 3 ties so far. On Tuesday, they played Christ the King which resulted in a 0-0 tie. Two days later in their last regular season game, they faced Craig Kielburger, who they beat 2-0. The ladies will play on Tuesday at HT against Craig Kielburger. It will be a quarter final game therefore we must give them the support they need. Good luck ladies!
The junior boys’ soccer team is still on a roll with 6 wins, leading the Volpe Division. The boys played on Wednesday against Bishop Reding and won 2-1. They will play Loyola on Wednesday at HT’s very own field. The senior boys’ soccer team played Jean Vanier on Tuesday when they unfortunately lost 2-0. Two days later, they came back and won big time, scoring some impressive goals against Craig Kielburger. The final score of the last regular season game was 4-0. The senior boys will begin their playoff run this Tuesday against Bishop Reding in the quarter final game! Again, let’s stay after school and support our boys in this crucial game! Good luck!
HT’s senior boys’ baseball team won 3 games, but also lost the same amount so far in the season. On Monday, they faced Jean Vanier who they beat 21-3!! After a hot game, they had a cooling one two days later when they faced Iroquois and lost 15-0. The boys look to go back into the winning column on Wednesday when they play Milton team. Good luck boys!
Senior girls’ rugby team’s season record so far is 3-4-0, but the team this year is very talented with great skills and tight chemistry. This week they played two games which HT both won. On Tuesday, they played Notre Dame and shut them down 20-0. On Friday, the girls faced Georgetown winning it 40-24. The girls will play their final game of the regular season on Tuesday at Bishop Reding. The senior boys’ rugby team is at the top of their division with 4-1-0 record. Just like the girls, the boys had a successful week, winning both of their games. On Monday, they faced T.A. Blakelock and won with the score of 33-24. The next day, the boys beat long time rival, Loyola with 31-12 as the final result. The team will play STA on Tuesday to conclude the regular season!
The senior girls’ fastpitch team continues to be on a roll. They won all 3 of their games this past week improving the record to 4-0-0. On Tuesday, they played twice against Assumption. First game, they beat them 14-8 and then followed with a 11-1 win. On Thursday, the girls faced Garth Webb which they also won, but with a closer result of 6-4. This week, the ladies will play on Tuesday & Thursday! Good luck to HT’s fastpitch girls!
