Today's Saturday Songs is starting a decades theme, and this week, the focus is on the 2000s. Enjoy these hits from the last decade:
Say My Name - Destiny’s Child
This number one hit will bring you right back to the beginning of the 2000's era! With brilliant vocals from lead singer Beyoncé Knowles, Say My Name will have you harmonizing along with her declarations of assertiveness (especially by the 2:30 mark).
The Middle - Jimmy Eat World
This song will bring you major nostalgia, and bring back all those memories of the movies you watched as a kid, considering this song was in almost every one! Jimmy Eat World brings a fun party tune within the pop-punk music genre with this song, a true 2000's classic.
It's Gonna Be Me - N’Sync
There's no escaping this song, even 15 years later N Sync is still as relevant and iconic as ever! This song will bring out your inner boy band and lame dance moves.
Pump It - Black Eyed Peas
Pump it is sure to drag you back to 2006 with its frenetic (and nostalgic) sound. Also, who doesn't love the video? I mean, have you seen Fergie's part?
The Killers - Be Still
This early 2000's band is definitely one of my favourites! This song is lyrically encouraging to those people going over a bump in the road. The song mentions to not break character even when faced with the toughest situations. This may be the perfect song to start off your weekend. Take it head on and have fun!
Fergalicious - Fergie
Fergalicious by Fergie: a Classic 2000's hit, Fergalicious is a blast to every teens past, which challenged us to be able to recite the fast-paced lyrics with the same sass as Fergie. It also challenged our spelling skills comparable to Gwen Stefani's Hollaback Girl, however questionable their spelling of Tasty.
