The school theatre was filled with the sound of music last Thursday as Holy Trinity's music department put on their annual Spring Music Night. Following up on the Acoustic Circus one day earlier, the concert added a musical flavour to Holy Trinity's school community. This Tuesday, the Senior Concert Band was back at it, performing at the Sounds of Joy festival in Hamilton.

The concert began, as always, with an introduction by Mr. Harkin and the Muscian's Prayer. The Jazz Band kicked off the concert with their first set. The Repertoire Classes took the stage next, following which the Guitar Class played their selections. The Halton Jazz Singers were special guests who came to perform with the Grade 11/12 Repertoire Class and added a vocal element to the night of music. A second set by the Jazz Band and the Repertoire Classes brought the show to its final act. Closing the evening of performances was the Senior Concert Band.

All in all, the 13th Annual Spring Music Night at Holy Trinity was a roaring success. It was a great evening with performances from a variety of musical groups led by Mr. Harkin at Holy Trinity. The HT music family looks forward to next year's installment!
On Tuesday, already tuned up from the previous week's show, the HT Concert Band travelled to the Hamilton Convention Centre. The Diocese of Hamilton hosted the inaugural Sounds of Joy music festival and Holy Trinity (along with Corpus Christi) represented the Halton Catholic District School Board.

The band had the pleasure of playing before a huge audience, including various other school bands, board officials, and His Excellency Bishop Douglas Crosby- the guest of honour. Fanfares, Mules and Roosters and The Mystery of Duffy's Cut were the two selections played that evening. These pieces made it clear that Holy Trinity has one of the most advanced and impressive music programs in the entire Hamilton Diocese!

With the year coming to a close, the final opportunity band members will have to perform is at the upcoming graduation ceremony in June.
