Hello there, Titans! It’s time yet again for the bi-monthly dose of your local high school blog talking about movies. Now that we’re beginning to wrench winter’s grasp off of us, the season of movies for the year of 2015 is probably going to kick in really soon! At least, I hope. To be honest, there haven’t been very many movies so far this year, just one really, that I can recommend that aren’t, er, strictly mature, we shall say. And any others that are fun watches are few and far between. Again, like I said in the first volume of this feature, January is toilet-bowl season, and February isn’t much better. But going into March, things have got to get better, right?
Eh, kind of. You see, the one movie I can talk about that had success at the box office this weekend is The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel, and even then it only made $8 million. The other ones didn’t fare much better, with films in their third or fourth week of release not too far from the ones that opened in terms of money. However, there’s still hope yet, for this week we have Cinderella opening in theaters, which I’m hearing is a pretty good new take on the beloved and, let’s be honest here, short and simple fairy tale. The week after that, we get Insurgent, the sequel to last year’s Divergent, which I personally thought was all right, so we’ll see how this turns out. (I don’t know yet, but something may be happening with Insurgent on the blog soon, so keep your eyes peeled for that!) There’s also a movie called Do You Believe? starring Sean Astin (you’ll know him as Samwise Gamgee), and the Six Million Dollar Man himself - Lee Majors! Those are the biggest names that I’ve seen attached, and apparently the movie is about Christianity and how faith helps us all, yadda yadda yadda, you’ve all seen that before, but like I always say with these types of films, you never know. It could be decent, if not pretty good.
Well, that wraps up the current going-ons in the world of movies, so it is time for the classic movie throwback! On Thursday! So, those of you who went to Free The Children’s movie night event on March 11th will know this one quite well:

Another high school movie! Well, moving on from The Breakfast Club to an earlier film, this is a classic musical and was a hit at the box office when it was released back in 1978. It was praised for its energy, music, the chemistry amongst its actors, and of course, for having John Travolta before he became kind of creepy. Oh, and it’s about romance too. But seriously, Grease is a film you watch when it comes on your local TV station, because it captures that 70’s high school spirit, as well as the timeless appeal of young love and romance, amongst daring escapades such as school dances, car races, clashes among different school cliques, and of course, the greasers’ fabulous hair. Oh, the hair...
And that’s all I really have to say about it. So that will have to wrap up this volume of the bi-monthly film feature, and hey, it’s almost March Break, so enjoy your time off from school. Be aware though, we will still have content up during those days of March Break, and we hope to maintain that for the rest of the year, so please, all it takes is a few swipes and presses on your phone to stay up to date on the stuff that we do here. Like I mentioned earlier with Insurgent, we have a lot of exciting ideas that we wish to put into effect, so look out for that. With that said, I wish you all an incredible March Break, and remember: Stay strong, Titans!
