This year’s DECA provincials competition was the largest in history, with approximately 6300 competitors in total. Students from across the province from over 100 schools came to compete for a spot in the International Career Development Conference held in Orlando, Florida.
Unfortunately for Holy Trinity, no members were able to qualify for this opportunity this year. With two teams competing in the Business Operations Research Events category, chances were slim with only 6 of the top teams moving onto the Internationals. Competition was fierce for the other members of the team as well. These two members elected to compete in the single events, which consisted of an oral presentation and a test.
The team Chapter President, Julia Ciriello, was the only member of the Holy Trinity team to win an award. Julia finished in the top 15 in her category, giving her a highly regarded DECA Provincials finalist award. Julia was a devout member of the Business Team and all of the members are extremely proud of this accomplishment.
The Holy Trinity Business Club encourages people of all ages to join the team next year. Anyone with any interest in business studies or who simply enjoys competing against others should come out and represent the Titans. Good luck next year HT!
