2015 has already begun which means it’s time to take risks, find new opportunities as well as face challenges that are awaiting us in the New Year. January was a busy month for our Titans, who came back from the Christmas break as they were occupied with games and tournaments throughout the week. The undefeated midget boys’ basketball team will take on Robert Bateman this Thursday, February 5th. The junior boys’ basketball team leads the Tier 1 Division with 9 wins in 9 games played. They started the second half of the season with two impressive wins against Nelson and Bishop Reding and play again this upcoming Tuesday. The senior boys’ basketball team beat Nelson team by 26 points but the next day, they lost to Bishop Reading by 13 points.
Holy Trinity’s Senior Boys’ hockey team started the new year with big games resulting big victories. They play again this Tuesday against Notre Dame so come out and support the boys!
The junior girls’ volleyball team kicked off the second half of the season with two wins and one loss. The girls look better and better with each game. The girls play on Wednesday, February 4th at 4:45pm in our own, newly-painted gym so come on out and show your Titans’ spirit and support! The senior girls continue to struggle as they have yet to win a game this season. The frustration from both coaches and the players is clearly shown after each match. This year may not be the year for our HT senior girls’ volleyball team, but that does not mean that it’s the end of the world. I have faith, Titan-sized faith, that next year and the years further on, the ladies chosen to play on the senior team will shine and prove the doubters wrong!
This week is another busy one for the Titan athletics. As we all go back to school and work, let us take a moment from our busy schedules to come out to the Titan games and cheer on our fellow teams as they fight for playoff position as well as to achieve their own personal goals. As always: LETS GO TITANS!!!
