Holy Trinity’s junior girls' volleyball team faced off against the Georgetown Rebels on Tuesday. The juniors played with persistence as they had some great rallies and made some amazing dives throughout the game. They ended off the first set with a victory, 25-23 being the score.
In the second set, our Titans were in the lead, making some incredible spikes and serves- not to mention the fantastic blocks that were made. It was a hard fought battle but unfortunately, they were not victorious in the second set, ending it with a score of 25-24.
The juniors competed in a tournament on Friday and went home as silver medalists! Go Titans!
Senior Girls'
By: David HeneinOn Tuesday of last week our senior girls gave it their all against the Georgetown Rebels. During the first set it was a hard fought battle with both teams going for gold. Mikaila Patrick and Veronique Chesterfield had some amazing digs and made sure to not let that ball hit the floor. Tayania Smith came up with a huge block, shutting down a vicious spike from the Rebels. Simone Hardenne returned with her own ferocious spike, racking up a point for HT. Even though the girls put up a tremendous effort and game, the Rebels took the first set 25-20.
The second set came rolling in, hot and intense, HT wanting to go to the third set. The girls were playing amazing, keeping the game very close, until Erica Witt went up to block and jammed her thumb back, she tried to shake it off, but the pain was too great. The girls seeing that one of their own had been injured gave it their all out best, until their starting middle Tayania Smith, jammed her finger as well on a block. The loss of their two starters was too big for the girls to handle and they came up short losing the set and the game at a score of 25-18.
Good try and better luck next game girls! To Tayania and Erica- we hope you have speedy and quick recoveries!
GO TITANS!
