On Thursday night, Holy Trinity students gathered to eat, sing, and socialize at student council’s first annual Wing Night.

For only ten dollars, students were treated to delicious chicken wings, tasty desserts, and an abundance of entertainment.

The western theme was evident throughout the event, from the plaid shirts to the old western film that was projected onto the walls of the cafeteria.

Attendants were provided with many activities to participate in, such as a nerf-gun shooting range and a photo booth complete with hay bales and cowboy hats.

The night also included an assortment of performances ranging from prepared acoustic circus sets to impromptu karaoke sessions.

Grade nine duo Alex Gorgi and Dimo Ayoub opened the entertainment portion of the evening, performing stripped back versions of Bastille’s “Pompeii” and Imagine Dragon’s “Radioactive”. Grade twelve student Olivia Fava followed their set with a beautiful acoustic version of Ed Sheeran’s soulful “I See Fire”.

Other students took the stage afterwards with karaoke performances of songs like “Party in the USA” and “When I Was Your Man”.

“I’m confident in our performance,” said grade eleven student Khalil Olasimbo after a lively performance of “Man in the Mirror” alongside fellow junior D’Arcy Murphy. “I think me and D’Arcy have a future in the music industry. I’d like to thank all of my fans. God bless.”

Make sure to come to next year’s Wing Night for an evening of guaranteed fun!
