Hey Titans, don’t forget to wish your moms, a very Happy Mother’s Day today!

Now back to business…

As the weather is heating up, HT’s athletics are getting hot too. Another eventful yet successful week is behind us. All of our teams were in action as the Titans’ faithful looked and cheered on.

On Wednesday, the junior girls’ soccer team absolutely demolished the hosts of the game. They played in Milton and won it by a difference of 9 goals! The girls looked sharp throughout the entire game, allowing only 1 goal. Their team chemistry, skills and communication are improving every day. Their next game is this Wednesday, May 13th at Bishop Reding. The senior girls’ soccer team played two games this past week. On Tuesday, they faced Oakville Trafalgar and won it with the final score of 3-0. On Thursday, they played Bishop Reding’s team which resulted in a 1-1 tie. Just like the juniors, these girls also look sharp and focused as a team. Their next game is on Tuesday afternoon at Christ the King school. Good luck to our soccer girls!!!

HT’s junior boys’ soccer team is on a roll. Through five games played, they are still undefeated. Fingers crossed that this keeps going! On Monday, the juniors traveled to Jean Vanier and won that game with a score of 4-1. Two days later, they faced a team from Milton in a game which they also won by the score of 5-1. They boys look forward to keeping the hot streak alive as they face Bishop Reding on Wednesday. The senior boys’ soccer team played two games this week and they both ended up in a tie of 0-0. On Tuesday, they played Oakville Trafalgar and two days later they hosted Bishop Reding. The team is looking good early on. Good luck to all of our soccer athletes this week!

After an unfortunate home, and season, opening loss, the Titans’ senior boys’ baseball team won their first game on Monday against King’s Christian Collegiate with the score of 5-4. The following Wednesday, the boys hosted Bishop Reding team which they also beat 8-6. That same day later on, the Titans suffered a second loss of the season to T.A. Blakelock. Our baseball team looks pretty good early on. Their next game is tomorrow vs Jean Vanier at Milton Sports Centre. Good luck boys!

This week for the Titan senior girls’ rugby team was an unsuccessful one. Unfortunately, the girls suffered three embarrassing losses. On Tuesday, they faced Corpus team and lost 55-5. Two days later, they hosted Loyola and got beaten to the tune of 29-10. That same day in the afternoon, they lost to T.A. Blakelock, 40-5. Even though it wasn’t a good week for the ladies, they are a good looking team with so many talents and love for the game that they will not go down easily. There is still a long way to go in the season so come on out and support the girls on Tuesday against Notre Dame. The senior boys’ rugby team got a win and suffered a loss this week. On Monday, they hosted a team from Georgetown which they beat in a great style with the score of 32-5. On Friday, they faced a tough team from Oakville Trafalgar high school and lost 41-13. Their next game is tomorrow when they face T.A. Blakelock on HT’s very own field. C’mon out and show your black and gold spirit in their support!

Titans’ senior girls’ fastpitch team opened up a regular season with a fantastic win. The ladies faced Iroquois Ridge in their home opener and beat the opponent 9-1. The girls look very solid even though it was only their first game. Their next game is on Tuesday early afternoon at River Oaks Park. Good luck ladies!

On Thursday, Holy Trinity's track and field team participated in a track meet in Hamilton. A competitive day in the sun was highlighted by a second place finish for the men's relay team consisting of Michael Condo, Matt Creelman, Adam Czach, and Stephen Mahoney. Well done, boys, and good luck to the entire track and field team this season!

The Trinity varsity boys' lacrosse team had an exciting week. The boys were undefeated at the Frank J. Hayden tournament on Wednesday and have been since ranked 2nd in the province! Way to go, guys! The girls' lacrosse team is also preparing for a big season this year in the black and gold.

P.S.- If you haven’t done so already, pick up a copy of our second print edition this week in the atrium on your lunch for only $1 and you might get a yummy treat as well!
