The junior girls' soccer team, coached by Mr. Bonfiglio and Mrs. Richards, earned a bronze medal in their first tournament hosted by Jean Vanier C.S.S. In their three games, they finished the event with a record of two wins and one loss.

In their first game, the girls lost a close game against Corpus Christi with a score of 1-0. In their second game however, they won by a blowout against rival St. Thomas Aquinas 6-1. The offence was led by Haley Griffin and Jocelyn Fletcher, who scored two goals each and Alexa Suarez and Courtney Wilson who both scored one goal. In the final game of the tournament, for the bronze medal, the team played against the host school, Jean Vanier. The girls emerged victorious by a score of 4-1, with goals scored by Jocelyn Fletcher, Sophia Boyd (one each) and Alexa Suarez (two goals). Not to be forgotten were the keepers; Eilidh Major and Caitlyn Baillie, who only allowed three goals against in the entire tournament.

When asked about the team’s performance in the tournament, striker Sophia Boyd said, "In my opinion, we were the best team in that tournament, we ran into a tough team like Corpus Christi, but we could beat them if we played again. We just need to keep playing like we were, as a team, and we can take on anyone." Also when asked how she felt about the team in the coming season, midfielder Jocelyn Fletcher said, “I feel that we have an amazing team and that we are strong in the sense that we will be able to play up to any competition and stand our ground. If we keep playing at the level we are now, I think we have a good chance at making it into OFSAA."

The girls' next tournament is April 14 at Holy Trinity, stay tuned for details, stats, and scores.

GOOOO TITANS!!
