This Wednesday, November 5th, our grade nine students got a day off from school. Why, you ask? They participated in this year's Take Your Kid to Work Day!
Students spent a full day at a parent, legal guardian, or friend's workplace, helping out and learning about its environment. They learned the basic safety rules of a work area, how to perform specific jobs, who to talk to when in need, and much more!
When asked if she liked her Take Your Kid to Work day experience, Jeanette Thompson said, “It was fun!” Weronika Kubica also enjoyed her day, saying, “I went with my grandma to the nursing home she works at. It was very enjoyable and the residence's company was very nice!” As for me, my mom runs a home daycare, so I spent the day with her taking care of three adorable kids.
I think most people can agree that this year’s Take Your Kid to Work day was engaging and eye-opening. We're so happy everyone had a good time!
